About Petal & Post
Hi, I’m Emma, owner and operator of Petal & Post.
Even though my career in flower farming and floral design is relatively fresh, I’ve always had a passion for flowers. Even as a kid, I was always in charge of the family Christmas table décor and flowering up family events and I loved every minute of it!
Being a fulltime flower farmer and floral designer has been a dream of mine for a long time and I feel extremely lucky and privileged to now be living that dream.
The Beginnings
What started as a side-hustle has blossomed into a full-blown passion over many years. The early years involved squeezing cut flower plants into the gardens of our rentals and tearing up my brother-in-law’s lawns to make way for my first (very) micro flower farm, the journey has been nothing short of a whirlwind. From that first patch I sold some strawflowers to a local florist, and I was hooked on flowers and flower farming.
In late 2019 my husband, Sam, and I finally found our slice of floral paradise in Oura, just outside Wagga Wagga, NSW. In late 2020, Petal & Post officially took root on our acre of land and I begun to share the joys and challenges of my flower farming journey on the Petal & Post Instagram account, inviting others to join me in celebrating the beauty of locally grown flowers. Thanks to the groundwork laid by the previous botanist owners, our little piece of heaven was ready-made for growth, complete with rows of veggies, a quaint greenhouse, and the perfect space to nurture the hundreds of dahlia tubers I had curated over the years.
Our vision and values
As of early 2024, Petal & Post has transitioned from a side-hustle to my fulltime passion. From the outset, my vision for Petal & Post has been to cultivate top-notch, locally-grown blooms for both local florists and flower enthusiasts. I am a firm believer in spreading flowery joy and ensuring that everyone has access to exceptional flowers at fair prices.
By dedicating myself fully to Petal & Post, I can actualise more of my floral design dreams and expand our growing area. I have loved every minute of designing florals for weddings so far, particularly when it comes to working with our brides on their dream florals.
The introduction of our Wedding Packages is aimed at making excellent wedding flowers more attainable for more people. Through a strategic combination of simplifying administrative processes by offering a curated selection of colour palettes and leveraging our ability to grow many of the flowers in-house, we can provide more value to our clients at a lower cost – a prospect that fills me with so much joy.
I am thrilled to continue experimenting with fresh ideas and sharing them with our fantastic clientele. Follow our Petal & Post Instagram to stay updated on our latest ventures and adventures.
